USB 3.0 works only when macOS is booted in - which means no macOS reinstall from USB disk - but who cares if You do macOS reinstall one time every few years or never - and if You do - You can do this trough every Mac's USB 2.0 port anytime.

It was 4,1 2009 Mac Pro but upgraded to 5,1 2012 12 core specification. Overall for a machine that has been around since at least 2012 and seen use I can't complain about the quality.
